Introduction
The CIC currently implements two courses called Wafy and Wafiyya, for boys and girls respectively, at its affiliated colleges.
Wafy is an eight-year programme in Islamic studies (comprising two-year preparatory, four-year undergraduate and two-year postgraduate courses) coupled with a recognized university degree in any secular discipline.
Wafiyya is a five-year course in Islamic studies (comprising two-year preparatory and three-year undergraduate courses) coupled with a recognized university degree in any secular discipline. An optional two year PG is also offered for Wafiyya graduates which can be completed either in distance or regular mode subject to conditions.

Preparatory
The two-year preparatory level comprises two courses: the CIC’s preparatory course (Thamheediyya) in Islamic studies & government’s higher secondary education (11th and 12th Grade). Students are privately enrolled for the higher secondary school certificate, which would qualify them to pursue a government-recognized bachelor’s degree.

Undergraduate
The undergraduate level comprises two courses: the CIC’s undergraduate course in Islamic studies with a bachelor’s degree from a university approved by the Universities Grants Commission (UGC) of the Government of India. Students are enrolled on the bachelor's degree courses as private candidates.

The PG programme consists of eight departments under three faculties:

PG programmes are offered on the mode of Choice Based Credit Semester System (CBCSS) which offers the students enhanced learning opportunities, ability to match their scholastic needs and aspirations, improvement in educational quality and excellence, flexibility to complete the programme over an extended period of time etc.
There will be 72 credit hours for all two-year Postgraduate programmes (36 for each year), in addition to computer classes and dissertation. One credit hour is equivalent to two periods. The programmes are divided into compulsory and optional papers. In one year, each student should take 25 credits from the compulsory papers while he/she is free to take the rest of the credit hours either from the compulsory or optional papers, to complete the 36 annual credit hours.
It is not allowed to take the credit hours specified for a semester or year in another one.

After Wafy and Wafiyya PG, students can pursue a one-year independent research course (MPhil) subject to the CIC’s terms and conditions.
